Marcelo Pellegrini was born in Valparaíso, Chile. There he studied at the Catholic University before moving in 1997 to the United States, where he teaches Latin American poetry at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has published several poetry chapbooks and six books of original poetry in Spanish, including most recently Los delatores (Ediciones Altazor, 2020). He has also published three books of translation of poetry into Spanish, including most recently Constancia y claridad. 21 sonetos de Shakespeare (Manulibris, 2006). He also has published two books of literary criticism, one on Chilean poetry from the 1990s (2006), and the other on the poetry of Gonzalo Rojas (2013).
Seth Michelson has published eighteen books of original poetry and poetry in translation, as well as three anthologies of poetry, with his most recent book being Rengo (Valparaíso, 2024). His honors include fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Fulbright Foundation, and the Mellon Foundation, and his work has been translated into multiple languages, including German, Hindi, Italian, Malayalam, Serbian, Slovenian, and Vietnamese. He teaches at Washington and Lee University, where he founded and directs the Center for Poetic Research and is chair of Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
