Oscar-PimientaOmar Pimienta (Tijuana). His transdisciplinary work explores questions of identity, transnationality, poetics of emergency, and sociopolitical landscapes. He is Professor of Border and Migration Studies in the Americas at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In 2010, he was awarded the 10th Emilio Prados International Poetry Prize from the Generation of ‘27 Cultural Center in Málaga, Spain. In 2017-18, he was awarded a grant from the foundation Art Matters of New York for his artistic work. He is the author of the poetry collection Album of Fences, translated by Jose Antonio Villarán (Cardboard House Press, 2018).
Lucina Schell is the international rights manager at the University of Chicago Press and the founding editor of the blog Reading in Translation. A founding member of the Third Coast Translators Collective, she translates primarily poetry from Spanish. Published translations include Daiana Henderson’s So That Something Remains Lit (Cardboard House Press, 2018) and Vision of the Children of Evil by Miguel Ángel Bustos (co•im•press, 2018), as well as selections from poets including Graciela Cros, Erika Martínez, María Ángeles Pérez López, Mercedes Roffé, and Ada Salas. She is currently based in NYC.
