LIGHT by Arvis Viguls – translated by Jayde Will

Once one morning a man noticed,
that a fifteen centimeter or so pull cord
had grown out
of his left ear in the night.

He pulled on the cord,
somewhere inside
there was a short, dry click,
and a lightbulb went on inside of his head.

“How practical!” the man thought
and once again pulled on the cord –
click! And the light went out.
Everything worked as it should.

However once, before going to bed, he forgot
to turn off the light in his head.
The lightbulb burned out in the night
and the man died.
