Brennan Emmett Cox currently lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland. He investigates abandonment and absence, creating portraits of human presence even where life appears to be absent. This past year, he was accepted into the Headstart Artist Residency in Barcelona where he taught several screen-printing workshops as well as displayed work in Barcelona’s gallery district. He is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he studied both English Literature and Painting. During his senior year of undergraduate studies, he was a member of the University of Maryland’s distinguished honors program in which he and 6 other students exhibited work in the Gateway Arts Center (2015, Brentwood, Maryland) and the Herman Maril Gallery (2016). Since that time, he has held exhibitions and residencies on the East Coast, in Barcelona, and in Lisbon.
