Juvenal Ortiz Saralegui (1907-1959) born in in Lavalleja, Uruguay, was a poet, literary critic, and journalist. In 1927 he moved to Montevideo, where he published his first book, Palacio Salvo, an important work of Latin American Futurism, named after the towering building in downtown Montevideo, which was once the tallest in Latin America.

Adam Giannelli is the author of Tremulous Hinge (University of Iowa Press, 2017), winner of the Iowa Poetry Prize, and the translator of a selection of prose poems by Marosa di Giorgio, Diadem (BOA Editions, 2012).
