Sergio Loo (Mexico City, 1982 – 2014) was a prolific Mexican writer at the forefront of contemporary queer Latinx poetics. Prior to his death from cancer at the age of thirty-one, he authored several collections of poetry, including Sus brazos labios en mi boca rodando (2007); a novel,House: retratos desarmables (2011), and Operación al cuero enfermo, a prose-poetry exploration of living with cancer.
Mark Statman’s most recent poetry collection is Exile Home (Lavender Ink, 2019). His translations include Never Made in America: Selected Poems of Martín Barea Mattos(Lavender Ink/diálogos, 2017) and, with Pablo Medina, Federico García Lorca’s Poet in New York(Grove 2008).He is Emeritus Professor of Literary Studies at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, The New School, and lives in Oaxaca de Juárez,Mexico.
Efraín Velasco is a writer and multidisciplinary artist. His work is informed by experimental poetics and radical aesthetics, and exhibited in spaces such as Art Museum of Blaffer (US), El Matadero (Spain) and the National Museum of Fine Arts (Chile), among others. In 2008 he was awarded Mexcio’s National Young Poetry Prize Elías Nandino. His most recent book is Gretel Returns Alone[…] (2018).
