Ryan A. Gunn, an intern at Tupelo Press, graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a B.A. in English – Creative Writing. When he is not working on his own writing, which consists mostly of short fiction and screenplays, he volunteers as a Writing Mentor for Tanzanian medical students of Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center through a Middle East Partnership Initiative grant. There, he helps students develop and hone professional writing skills that increase language fluency both in and out of medical contexts. Ryan intends to pursue his passion for the written word through graduate school and into the professional world of publishing.
