nimbus (n.) by Jackie Yang

i’m sorry to be crude, but the definition of nimbus is a bright cloud
surrounding a divine or sacred person. compare to aureole, a
celestial crown as worn by victors over the flesh. i think you know
where i’m going next. in the halo around us, there is water falling
and a cool mist as in the vapor of “nebula.” see the feminine
diminutive of aureus, “golden.” see the diadem, aureole worn
by a confessor.
