PROCESS NOTE
These collage poems are part of a series created from the pages of E. L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey. They embrace finding beauty and poetry from an unexpected place. After I scour the pages and develop the wording of the text, I seek images that stand out to me. Joining art and text is a long process for me, that I seek to balance or, in some cases, unbalance. I take great inspiration from Sarah J. Sloat’s Hotel Almighty, which introduced this blend of erasure and collage to me.
