With a black-handled knife cut three pieces of earth by Susanne Dyckman

I sleep with a wish so the smudge of hope will be on my lips at dawn. I have carved out a
space in a cloud where I’ve written a name. Those I come from I must repeat. I put my
feet on the floor, I open a door. We are all to be headed in some direction, of course we
know the end but we are turned around twice along the way when not watching the sun
rise.
