Montserrat Andrée Carty is a Spanish-American writer, photographer, and the host of the podcast “Musings of the Artist.” She holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts and her writing and/or photography has been published in journals including Longreads, The Sun, StoryQuarterly, Internazionale, Short Reads and Bellingham Review.
As a photographer, Montserrat works primarily with medium format and 35mm film cameras. As a writer, she tends to write at the intersection of creative nonfiction and poetry. In both mediums, she resists formal constraints, mixing color and black and white images, images with text, and writing outside the bounds of genre.
