Dead Narcissus by Reilly D. Cox & Brennan Emmett Cox

A Process Note

BEC:  For my process, I explore bus stops, parks, and sidewalks in search of debris left behind by those passing by. I use my collection to create a kind of geographical portrait of human presence and expose the composition into a silkscreen. Each time I print the image, I remove part of the emulsion until the final print is simply black.

RDC:  In response to my brother’s work, I like to draw out the stories that are happening around (or being ignored within) the spaces in which the objects are found. Through these stories, I try to find measurements of joy, change, and loss that occur within instances, short times, or over the course of years and decades.
