The Inbetween by Ruth Baumann

Turn a light on over & over.
This sleep has a particular sound,
like what the world sounds like
to ringing ears. (Not opposite.)
See everything & focus on nothing,
someone incorrect said.
There are fantasy worlds built of gingerbread,
of concrete, of wax paper
& of the warm shape a body leaves
after it exits a bed.
