Epithalamium by Daniel Moysaenko

At the wedding the groom dies
inside the bride
and vice versa.
What’s left is a definition
of space and
the space it borders.
A generic verdant horizon
sliding
into the foreground of barn animals
and maypoles.
AKA a glorious collapse.
If you’re here
I can’t feel you.
How I mangle your image into myself
when absent.
You dredging me
into yourself. Make the mind
another bird
we tie a ribbon to.
Camouflaged in the dogwood.
Sexless and unnecessary
because we have enough.
